The design in context
A home shaped by rock and sky.
Arrival moves through filtered light beneath the house, then toward a garden and stair. The sequence makes the desert setting part of the experience before entering the living spaces.
The studio describes a compact program lifted toward the second floor beside a natural rock outcrop. This opens longer views and supports the home’s use as an astronomical observatory. Completed in 2013, the residence shows how a specific site and way of living can shape the architecture.
